Christine’s Lasting Legacy

On November 27, 2021, after a fiercely fought battle with cancer, Christine Eldridge passed away peacefully in the presence of her family. We mourn with, and lift up the Eldridge Family during this difficult time.

Christine was part of the Sentinel Family since 1997. She served as our Vice President, Retirement Plan Services even into the final weeks of her fight. To those who knew Christine, these last days were who Christine was: a great teammate who loved her job, loved her colleagues and loved serving her clients. She embodied the values and behaviors we hold dear at Sentinel and was a friend to many of us.

While I am saddened and surprised by Christine’s passing, I am grateful for Christine. Christine was the first person I met at Sentinel; she chose to hire me; and, she took the time to teach me how to be successful at Sentinel. I am beyond thankful for the 22 years I shared with Christine. My memories are not unique. Christine made an impression on so many people.

Christine was not merely a leader by title, but more importantly, by character. She was happiest leading in the background, serving her clients and all in her care. If you knew Christine, you knew she never was one to look for attention. The spotlight and the headlines could be for someone else. The irony of Christine never wanting the spotlight is that the way in which she lived her life every day – to have fun, to be kind, to love life and to bring joy to others – is that her light will never dim.

To her husband Bill, and her sons Nick and Luke, thank you for sharing your wife and mom with all of us at Sentinel. I can speak for the entire Sentinel Team: not only did Christine make us better when she was with us, she has made us better for the future as well!

Christine was an expert. She was loyal to her people. Christine was just…excellent.

Christine’s legacy will certainly be lasting.
