Juneteenth

Sentinel Group has long believed our purpose is to make a difference in the lives of our people, our clients and our community. We believe making a difference first starts with uniting to listen and learn. To that end, Sentinel’s offices will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States and a day for celebration and education about Black history and culture.

Sentinel is against inequities in our society and our decision to close our offices on June 19th is a reflection of our commitment to join others in learning, reflecting and deepening our understanding of these issues. We stand in solidarity in the spirit of social equality and ask ourselves what role we can play in bringing about positive, peaceful change. Diversity and inclusion have long been values we hold in high esteem, and we pledge to increase and improve our efforts in these areas.

We appreciate your support and understanding and while we have come a long way since June 19, 1865, the first Juneteenth, there is so much more to do, and our observing this day for the first time is Sentinel’s first ‘collective and conscious’ step forward.

Respectfully and peacefully,

Samuel Mitchell
CEO
