Health & Welfare Legislative Round-Up: The American Rescue Plan, Benefit Timeline Extensions, and More!

Date: March 31, 2021
Start Time: 1:00 PM
End Time: 2:00 PM

In the first few months of 2021, government agencies have provided clarification related to certain COVID relief bills that were passed in 2020. Specifically, we’ve seen guidance that addressed lingering questions from both the Consolidated Appropriations Act and the EBSA Disaster Relief Notice 2020-01. Relating to COBRA and FSA plans, there are many nuances and variables to sort through for employers who offer these benefits.

Additionally, with the recent passing of the latest COVID relief bill, the American Rescue Plan, there will be even more changes in the form of COBRA subsidies and even changes to Dependent Care FSAs.

If you are a benefits/HR professional or benefits broker/consultant, please join Sentinel’s Scott Riordan for a 30-minute review of the latest guidance. During the session, Scott will cover the following topics:

  • A brief summary of the legislation passed in 2020, as it relates to COBRA and FSA plans
  • An updated look at the Consolidated Appropriations Act based on the guidance from IRS Notice 2021-15
  • An updated look at the benefit deadline extensions based on the guidance from EBSA Disaster Relief Notice 2021-01
  • An overview of what the American Rescue Plan means for COBRA and FSA plans
  • How Sentinel is handling this guidance from an administrative standpoint
  • Audience Q&A
