It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of our President & CEO, John Carnevale, this past weekend. He died as he lived, full of life, while dancing at a friend’s wedding. We mourn with his family and friends, words cannot express the loss that we all feel.
Thanks to John, Sentinel is first a family. As you may know, John’s son Maxwell previously worked at Sentinel during his college years and upon graduation he spent an additional four years with the company. His daughter Ava is currently working at Sentinel in our Retirement Plan Sales division. So even as we grieve our loss, we are pulling together as families do, and thinking about the values that John taught us, the values which constitute the Sentinel way.
John loved this company, he loved the associates that he worked with day-to-day, and he treasured his relationships with our clients and partners. His character is the bedrock of who we are. His vision of providing superior service to our clients, being experts in everything that we do, and striving to be excellent is who Sentinel Benefits is and will continue to be.
No one person can ever fill John’s shoes, but as a visionary, he was keenly aware of succession planning. As a consequence, we are well positioned and prepared as a company to move forward. His legacy is the team of people he built, committed to you as they are to each other. Collectively the partners, senior management and all of our associates are determined to honor his legacy and maintain the high standard of work we do for you.
As John would have wanted, our relationship with you will continue in the same personal and proactive manner you have come to expect. Sentinel Benefits will remain committed to being an organization of the highest character, striving always to deliver on our promise of providing authentic, passionate, and expert service to our clients, our partners and each other.
John was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend, who will forever be a guiding light for our company and our people. Your thoughts, condolences, and prayers are welcomed and appreciated by the family and those who held John dearly.
